Yikes.
Kenya Safari Cost
Typical Kenya Safari Prices in 2027
Budget safari: $200–$350 per day
Mid-range safari: $350–$700 per day
Luxury safari: $700–$1,500+ per day
Now hold on to your horses, a Safari is a big deal, but it does not have to break the bank. This month, I created three personal Safaris for couples and 2 for solo travellers, which did not break the bank.
One might have dented the credit card, but the rest were reasonable. Why?
Well, because you called me or emailed me bena@bestsafaris.com
Because you told me your budget, and I don’t hide any costs when it comes to a Safari in Kenya.

Why is Safari Pricing Confusing?
Well to be honest, when I priced up my first Safari in November 2025, I did need some guidance from Best Safaris before sending out offers. During a Safari, seasons or months determine both hotel prices and park fees. This can get messy as park entry fees can change over days.
I went on a Safari with women in May 2026, and the same Safari in June 2026 was more, because of Park fees.
What? Who? How Park Fees?
OK. OK. Now, I am the one who is confusing you!
When you go on Safari in Kenya you have three major costs.
Driver, Guide and Vehicle.
Entry fees to National Parks such as the Masai Mara
Hotel, lodge or tented camp fees.
1A. The driver fee and vehicle are usually one charge. If you share a safari, then the price is cheaper as the cost is reduced.
2A. The park fees can change from month to month or season to season. They different if you are a visitor or if you are a Kenyan resident.
3A. A luxury tented camp can cost you up to 1500 USD per day.
So… I hear you asking. If these are the rates and prices how can I get you a good deal?
How to navigate Safari Pricing.
Well, talk to me and talk to me early. I can create any package at any budget within reason.
But that is the easy answer. To really navigate Safari Pricing you need to think about what you want.
Do you love luxury? Call me!
Do you prefer cheap, cheap, cheap? (If not, I probably can’t help you - sorry). But remember hidden costs are a big thing. You might get to the park and have to pay the extra fees at the gate with no turning back or way out.
Are you worried about security?
Do you want an impact Safari or is photography your thing. If you know a little bit about what you want then I can tailor and advise on the right packages.
At the moment in the busy season my most requested Safaris are 3 nights Safari and 3 nights beach with one night in Nairobi.
Can you see everything on Safari in 3 days?
I never know how to answer this question. When people ask me this, I want to scream a Safari is not ticking off your Big 5 animals on a list. Its about the whole experience. If you just want to see an animal and run…… go to the Zoo. Really. …
Please… you are a Zoo and not a Safari person!.....
Anyway - I digress - back to the point.
The Biggest Change Affecting Kenya Safari Prices in 2027
Park fees are increasing as Kenya invests more in conservation and wildlife protection. During peak travel periods, these fees have a significant impact on the total cost of a safari, which is why prices often change between seasons.
This means there is an increase of bus safaris with 12 people crammed into a vehicle. Not only is that no fun, if you are on a budget… is it worth it?
Do you really want to go to Africa and take pictures of animals sweating in a bus with stuffy strangers?
As Frankie Goes to Hollywood would have said in the 1980s - DON'T DO IT!
You have two options, maybe three. Book in advance and lock in your price and payment for 2027. Be safari cost savvy and know your hotel, from lodge and tent. Remember the tented camps in the park are wonderful and expensive. Book one month before and try and get the best last minute deals, through me. But your favourite lodges might be fully booked.
Or my favourite, join a group where costs are shared and you can guarantee luxury safari seating and great deals.
So…
What is the Cost of a Safari in Kenya?
I said it once, and I will say it again. Talk to me. I have got you. Last year when I started I was new. Now, with the backing of Best Safaris - I am creating dream luxury Safari itineraries for mainly couples for 3, 5 and 8 days.

Don't tell anyone I told you. But one of my clients spent 4 days at one of the best Safari lodges last minute. How? Well, she had a budget. I just asked. I know people... you know!
PS - ask me about my Couples Safaris... Yes. I love solo female travel... but couples safaris are becoming my thing too....
