Safari Outfits for Women over 50: The 2026 Packing Guide
The perfect safari outfit for women over 50. Is there such a thing?
YES!
Don't make the mistakes I made on my first safari. I am ashamed of those pictures where I look more like a camel herder than a chic over 50 women! I went for my 50th birthday, and believe me. I regret my outfit choices. You know, when you wake up at night, in shock?
Well this happens to me when my meditation fails, and I think back to those images. But after ten safaris and a few years later, I am the queen of style on my safaris. I am going to share my knowledge with you!
I am a female over 50, and all the clothes and jewellery you see on this page and on this website are owned by me!
The Perfect Safari Outfit for Women
A safari is a journey of the soul. It is for every occasion and for all the senses. I believe that what you wear has to reflect you, be comfortable, but also make you feel good. You invested in an ethical luxury safari and bought the sustainable, timeless necklace, and now you want beautiful pictures.
I have written quite a bit on Safari Outfits for 2026; Safari Style for Mature Women and What to Wear on Safari for Women over 50 - please do take a look.
The Essential Brown Vest
The ultimate layering piece for the unpredictable Kenyan climate. It offers practical utility and the perfect colour for every adventure.
The Crisp White Jean
A staple for the boutique lodge experience. Its clean and a bright contrast to the earthy tones of the savannah. It is perfect for relaxing at the camp, storytelling in the evening or visiting the trust. Do not wear on a bushwalk! When you go on a walk opt for a darker colour trouser.

The earth, white or green linen.
This top is breathable. It fits in with the sustainable lodge and the general safari aesthetic. I love colour, so I usually contrast this tone with a vivid necklace.
Cotton and linen also keep you cool in the sun. Or give you space to breath if its raining.
The crossbody is also essential on a safari! That is true for anyone between 19 to 60 who is interested in Safari Style.

The Statement Artisan Necklace
I think by now, you have guessed that I love this necklace! See my Safari Style page, where I show you how to stlye this on Safari and at home
More than jewellery, this necklace is a bridge to local culture. It is hand beaded and bold. It transforms any outfit into a celebration of Kenya.
It is timeless and elegant.

Safari Packing Guide 2026
These are my purchases form Zara. To find the perfect clothes, I always start by using the filter.
I search for my size and then the colour that I want. I don't always wear Safari colours, but I do tend to opt for these colours as I wear outfits and home and on holiday.
I don't like the idea of just wearing something for a photo opportunity and wear my clothes over and over again.
This is actually also really comfortable for photography. I took many of my Safari pictures of Maasai Women in an outfit similar.

Safari Outfit Packing Guide for the evening
These are my purchases form Zara. To find the perfect clothes. To find these, I filtered using dark brown. You will find that a lot of dark brown clothes are reduced!
The shirt I purchased for EUR 7.99 and the Dress for EUR 12.99 from Zara. Absolute high quality bargains in the sales. The dress is a size M and I can wear a white vest or light brown vest underneath. I will add these images to my blog, when I am finished!

Let me help you create the Safari look!
A pop of colour always gives you the luxury and glamourous feel on Safari. This shirt, I got in the sale from H&M or Zara, was worn on Safari at Christmas.
The brown trousers are a must for the rain and the evenings. I also have these in satin. I feel that wearing satin at a luxury resort makes you feel glamourous.
Let me help you create the look!
These I just purchased today and if you are lucky you might still find them on Zara. The jacket is perfect. It is 100% linen. I can wear that in the heat. Its a perfect night time or day jacket. I dress a bit warmer in the morning. But, I do prefer shorts to trousers when we are in the 4x4. For me, its just more comfortable.

Remember where you will wear these outfits
When you are very very close to wildlife....

When you are watching crocodiles form the Ewaso Nyiro River

My looks are part of my concept of Active Luxury. These are active luxury pieces that are durable for the bush, but elegant enough for a sundowner. They are also ethical enough to wear with pride at home or in Kenya.
My core beliefs are
