So, you are contemplating a Safari in 2026, and before you go, you need to know about the safari outfits you can use from your own wardrobe or what to buy. I will make it easy for you!
I have created simple outfits that can be worn on and off Safari. They are both timeless and versatile, making them easy to style. I bought them all from Zara or H&M (Shoes are Crocs), and that is it - you are ready to go!
See my Safari Style page on the website
Safari Look 1
You cannot go wrong with a neutral cargo skirt and a brown vest or t-shirt. Its timeless.
You can then dress it up with some simple African Jewellery.

The classic look that you can wear with either an open or closed shirt. This is your everyday look when in the Jeep. For a more formal look at lunch simple do up the shirt or take it off! I love the white shirt over the top as it protects from the heat and keeps you cool.
The brown belt elevates the look to make it more sophisticated, and the green shorts are the must-have Safari shorts. If you buy one thing, buy these!
The bag is my favourite Kate Spade Crossbody, at USD 500, it's an expensive purse to take. But if you are like me, you think that the bag always makes the outfit. I am addicted to bags and I believe that they DO make the outfit!
Even though the colour is more brown/mustard, I feel it works here as it gives you so many things to look at and you look classic, but not too deliberate. I like to look authentic and not always have everything match. I feel this look encompasses an eclectic, but luxury casual style.
The shoes are Crocs. They are comfortable. I usually wear walking shoes on Safari, but I always take sandals for pool days and relaxing moments.
Let the video below inspire you for your trip. I love creating looks, and when I take solo female travel tours, I make sure you get the right style and picture!
What to wear on Safari?
Don't follow the myth that you have to be decked out head to toe in survival gear. You are not Lara Croft. Be yourself and put comfort first.
Will mosquitoes eat me alive if I dress well?
No. Take repellent with you. But wear shorts and dresses and everything you like in the day. At night, dress for mosquitoes. This means long trousers and long shirts. You can still look beautiful. See my style guide and page on the website. I love linen trousers or even silk at night in Kenya. Also a camel jacket. You can never go wrong with a tan or camel jacket!
What shoes should you wear on safari?
I do not leave the house without my trusted Tresspass walking shoes. They are amazing for every occasion.
