Active Luxury and Jeep Fatigue Explained
What is Jeep Fatigue on Safari?
If you have been on a safari before, then I don't need to explain. Otherwise, it's the moment on day four when your ears are tired of the diesel engine, and you realise you have spent a few days behind glass windows. Jeep fatigue is the physical and mental drain of being a passive observer. When you watch and don't move. Yes, you take pictures of the action - but the action is not you!

What does Active Luxury mean in 2026?
This is not about roughing it! It is about the luxury of movement. It's the ability to wake up in a 5-star camp or lodge like Soroi Larsens or Samburu Lodge. But instead of crawling to the car at 4 am, you head out on foot much later with a guide. Active luxury is the high-end comfort paired with high-engagement activity. You visit the community, a school, a trust, or go on a bushwalk. You are moving and engaging with the world, and after that adventure, you have breakfast or a sundowner in the wild! My bushwalk ends with a much-deserved white-linen breakfast.

Is Active Luxury Right for You?
