The Safari I Turned Pretty? Or the Summer I Turned Pretty?

Yes. My daughter introduced me to The Summer I Turned Pretty, and I immediately read the book. Then fell in love with the series. I related to the show, because I used to be a swimmer and every summer we would go to California for summer. I had my first kiss in Lake Tahoe!

Also, the cancer angle, as I had cancer 17 years ago. But I survived. I am also #teamconrad and can go on about the last episode, Paris and my favourite Taylor Swift song #dress.

But this post is actually about my learning to style myself on Safari.

My first Safari, I have to say, I was a bit ugly. I read too much, took too many fisherman clothes, and felt like an elephant most of the time. See the picture above, I used to be proud of my green parachute pants and matching hat. .... No longer!

My second to fifth Safari - I got better. Owned my outfits a bit more and tried to be more me. I am on the beach above, starting to own it. But not there just yet!

By my tenth Safari. Well, for me, that is the safari I turned pretty. It was when I began to own my look. To feel as though the Safari was not only about the pictures of wildlife. But about me, my life, my adventure, and what I wanted it to be.

This was on the 8th Safari, I am starting to wear makeup and jewellery on feeling a lot more comfortable.

Now, with my 10th Safari under my belt and my 11th incoming.

I think I've started to own it.

I'm 52.

I love fashion.

I am telling you the truth. You need great shoes in Kenya and the best months to visit Kenya are April, May, and November.

My boots might have been muddy, and my hair wasn't perfect, but the experience of having Samburu and parts of Kenya all to myself was priceless. If you want high-value, high luxury experiences that feel real... join me.
