What I love about the Soroi Mara Bush Camp is that it's a Gold-Rated Eco Camp. That means not only is it luxurious in the Masai Mara National Park, but it is also ethical. If you have not realised by now, I am hot on both ethical and sustainable safaris in Kenya.
Why the Mara Bush Camp is a Must-See
First of all, let's start with the vibe.
You already feel amazing as you just landed in the Masai Mara. Then after a 15-minute drive, you are in the most fantastic camp you have ever seen. When you get there you are greeted by everyone from the Spa to the chefs to the hotel manager.
You get a briefing on the camp's ecology, the solar panels, and how to join in and conserve water. You feel amazing and inspired, and you have not even been in the Mara for one hour!

After that, it just gets better and better. The camp is stunning. The rooms are clean, safe, ethical, and stunning. The views - fabulous!
But then you find something even better.... The Hippo Lounge!

The Hippo Lounge at Mara Bush Camp!
So, the hippo lounge is a way down the path from where I was staying and the restaurant area. It's tucked away in the back, and it's lovely. When I was there, I had a cuppa tea before breakfast. I was woken up every morning at 6.30 am with a tea and biscuits. The lovely man, I think his name was Daniel, then would put up my blinds so that I could look outside while having my tea!

At the Mara Bush Camp, I did Reiki daily. I just felt energised from the view from the tent and also the hippo lounge. Just before dinner, I went there a couple of times and just danced around. I might sound crazy, but it was just the freedom. It was November, there was hardly anyone there, and it was beautiful.
I put on my headphones and had my own private silent disco! I can't believe I had so much fun!
Why the Hippo Lounge is a haven for anyone with a camera, good or bad at photography
The light at the lounge and the views are dreamy. You can see from the video what great light I had just for the short video I took.
We stay at the Mara Bush Camp on both my 11 Day Signature Safari and the new 7 day Safari - Soul of the Savannah. Both, of these Safaris are hosted by myself.
You will feel loved and remember, solo travel does not have to mean alone!
